Carl Levien son of Carl & Gwen Levien was born and raised in Ferndale. After gradution from Ferndale High in 1975 Carl started a job as a landscaper. Then in 1977 Carl married the girl of his dreams Beth Smit, in 1978 Carl & Beth had there first son Josh at that time Carl was working as a self employed professional landscaper. In 1982 after a frustrating day Carl was offered a job at Lynden Mower Sales as a mechanic. Four years later he took a job at Total Rental then managing Eastside mower. By then he had accumulated four sons. Josh, Carl G. Jordan, and Clayton. On April 1 1990 we took a step of faith and open Carl's Mower & Saw and the rest is history
He now has five grandchildren, which bring him lots of smiles.
Carl enjoys bow hunting, salmon fishing, kayaking, attending church and most of all spending time with Beth.

Beth Levien (100% Dutch) is the daughter of George and Revah Smit she was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Her family moved to the Lynden area when she was four where she grew up on a dairy farm, but never did learn how to milk cows. She graduated from Lynden Christian High School in 1975 and just two years later married Carl and has been living happily ever after for the past 30+ years. After her four boys were old enough, Beth drove school bus for Lynden Christian for 19 years, then retired in 2006. She enjoys spending time with her family, camping when possible, and loves to plan trips and travel. Beth is the mother to Josh, Carl, Jordan, and Clayton, and Grandma (Namma) to Kiya, Spin, Rian, Mavrick, & Jeriah. When she's not at the shop, she can usually be found babysitting her grandkids, making delicious baked goods, or running errands to keep all those boys happy.

Parts Manager
Josh Levien oldest son of Carl and Beth graduated from Lynden Christian School in 1996. Josh started in the Outdoor Power industry at a young age he used to get off the school bus at Eastside Mower in Lynden on his way home and would help his dad sharpen chains. In 1990 when Carl's Mower opened Josh was 12 and quickly picked up many of the small jobs. With Carl gritting his teeth Josh started selling and quickly learned the ins and outs of the equipment Carl's Mower offered.
After graduating high school Josh married Lyssie Dykstra in 1999. Josh and Lyssie have three children Kiya there oldest daughter is a 5th grader at LC. There son Spin is currently in 2nd grade at LC, and Rian there youngest daughter is a kindergartener at LC. You are quite likely to see the kids hanging out at Carl's and learning the ropes.
Josh enjoys the challenges at Carl's Mower & Saw and loves it when he is able to take care of a customers needs. Outside of work Josh enjoys taking care of his own yard, playing with his kids and there dog Hershey. Josh also spends spend time volunteering as a Sunday school teacher at Sonlight Church in Lynden and as the president of the Friends Of LC board.

Before coming on full time at Carl's he spent one summer on the mow crew for Mt Baker Mowing, Carl feels this his experience in the field helps him to fully understand the needs of the lawn care professional.
After graduating Carl started working full time at Carl's and has been perfecting his technical skills ever since. He is highly trained and certified for all lines of equipment that Carl's Mower & Saw sells. Every year Carl looks forward to more training to improve his product knowledge and customer service. Carl's next step in training will be a class specifically on service shop management, he feels that this training help him even better service our customers. The training and experience that Carl has obtained has helped our service shop to become one of the most effecient in the country, you can count on your machine to recieve top quality repairs in a timely matter.

Jordan Levien is Carl & Beth's third son, Jordan also attended Lynden Christian Schools. Like his brothers Jordan grew up doing jobs around the shop, after graduation he worked @ Carl's for several years before pursuing a job in the concrete business. In January of 2005 Jordan returned to work @ Carl's, where he has the title of Sales Manager.
In September of 2006 Jordan took a 6 month sabatical from work and became involved with Youth With A Mission. He was able to spend 3 months in Thailand helping with building and other mission related projects. While with YWAM Jordan became aquainted with April Hazen, whom he renewed an aquaintance with in the Fall of 2007. April shares Jordan's love for bikes of all types and shapes (including a rickshaw)! If you ever see a bike driving around town that is 3 bikes tall that will probably be Jordan.
Jordan and April were married this August in Ohio, and make there home in Bellingham's Sunnyland neighborhood. Jordan and April have one child a son. Jeriah who was born healthy and full of life in September, 6 2009.

She graduated from Lynden Christian High in 1998 and spent a short time at Whatcom Community College. Her and Josh were married in 1999 and now reside in Ferndale. Lyssie devotes most of her time to raising there children, Kiya(11), Spin (7), & Rian (5).

Scott Wilson
Scott is originally from California, but grew up in BC just south of Alaska. There he spent his summers as a deckhand on a fishing charter boat, and later as a dock worker for a floatplane airline based out of Prince Rupert, BC. He completed a four year enlistment in the US Navy as an avionics technician. After his tour in the Navy, he moved to Whatcom county and spent the next three years doing warehouse work until his start at Carl's. Scott is also a pilot, and is currently working toward his commercial pilot's license and flight instructor certification.
Scott & his wife Jen live in Birch Bay.

When Clayton is not at Carl's or at home with Kat & Mav he is volunteering at Fire District 4 in Bellingham. Clayton's wife Kat works for The Social Security Administration in Bellingham, where she has worked for the past 4 years.
